WE the Women

How WE the Women, as responsible citizens of the nation, can be prepared and prevent panic in the event of this crisis

Following the heinous killing of Hindu tourists in Pahalgaun , the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed. Altogether, nine (9) sites have been targeted.

After the attempts of attacks by Pakistan Army on the citizens of India it is a full-fledged war.

 

What WE the Women can Do : 

  • Familiarize yourself and your children with the sounds and meanings of air raid sirens such as long siren sounds are alerts, while short bursts signify that all is clear. 
  • Install blackout curtains or blinds at home and learn to operate without lights during a potential blackout. Tell your family to Make sure that all outdoor lights are switched off.
  • Turn off or cover all light sources, as well as electronic devices such as televisions, phones and tablets. Avoid talking on phones unless necessary to keep communication lines free in case of emergencies.
  • Do not let your family members to step outdoors if not needed; if you happen to be outside when the siren rings , rush to the nearest shelter for e.g. a designated safe zone, a basement or an underground car park.
  • Teach children the basics of emergency response such as  dropping low and covering one’s head, identifying safe spaces at home, school or in the neighbourhood.
  • teach all your family members  first aid techniques for minor injuries and CPR.
  • Keep an emergency kit handy with essentials, including identification documents, emergency contact numbers, a torch, medicines, snacks and water.  

What WE the Women should NOT Do :  

  • Please do not forward ANY wattsapp message relating to Indian Army .  Avoid spreading misinformation or rumours . 
  • Avoid sharing sensitive information about local facilities on social media.
  • Also avoid photographing and posting the movement of our Army troops.
  • Do not interfere with any activity of defence personnel  or enter restricted areas  identified by our Forces. 
  • Do not block pathways or stop to collect extra belongings .
  • Avoid taking private vehicles — unless instructed — to prevent roadway congestion. Do not take shortcuts or bypass safety measures.
  • Last but not the least AVOID PANIC BUYING of essential items such as food, petrol, diesel, fodder, and other daily necessities.
